  • *** HELP WANTED ***

Youth Program Coordinator - Maple Grove Wrestling Booster Club

If you love the sport of wrestling, like working with kids, and want to be an integral part of the successful future of Maple Grove Wrestling, this is a great opportunity for you !!!

For the last few years, I have coordinated the youth programs described here on our website.   My son (Matt Philips, Junior) has just one year left in his MG wrestling career.  So...it is time for me to turn our youth program over to someone who will be a part of the MG wrestling family for the next few years.

This would be an ideal position for a parent of one of our younger wrestlers (elementary school age maybe) who wants to help build a successful program.   Knowledge and experience with the sport are very helpful, but not absolutely necessary.   The main duties of the position are to interface between the MG coaching staff, MG Park and Rec, parents, and wrestlers.   It is mainly a "General Manager" job.  You don't have to coach, but you could if you are capable.  (I have no wrestling experience myself, but I have learned enough about the sport over the years to assist our coaches at the youth level.)

This has been a really great job.  I'm proud to have helped develop a number of really good wrestlers (and really good kids too).  Now I get the chance to watch them succeed at the high school level.  I've also made some great friends among the wrestlers' parents.

If you are interested in this position, give me a call or send me an e-mail.  Ideally, I would like for someone to assist me in the position for the next year or so and then take over when I "retire".
